The
Alphabet Versus the Goddess :
The Conflict Between Word and Image
by Leonard Shlain
Price: $11.96

Did the
advent of the written word mark the decline
of holistic thinking and shift the emphasis from the Goddess,
right brain thought, to the Patriarchal, linear thought?
A provocative and compelling book. ~Salome

Motherpeace
: A Way to the Goddess Through Myth, Art, and Tarot
by Vicki Noble
This is
a favorite tarot deck. I attended a lecture at Judy Chicago's
Birth Project back in the early 80's and Vicki Noble was presenting
her, yet-to-be-published, Motherpeace work. We each chose a
card...I remember mine was The Emperor and I was not happy with
the book's interpretation (patriarchy..) It's quite slanted
towards the feminine side and so not a deck for all. But appropriate
for this category. ~Salome
