Kyphi
Making
Sat.
July 11th, 2009
12-3pm in Pittsburg
Come
join The Order of the Sacred Grove, a Modern American Witchcraft
Tradition, in a day of great smelling fun and feasting.
We will be joining together to recreate the ancient Egyptian
art of Kyphi making. Each guest will go home with a sample
of our days work.
Kyphi
is a sacred incense of ancient Egypt. There are several
modern and ancient recipes to choose from. We will create
at least two, feasting through out and after completion.
There
is no charge for this event, though we will gladly accept
a donation of $1-$2 to help cover supplies.
This
is not a class or a workshop, though you do not have to
know how to create this incense to come. This is, however,
a day to meet, greet, and enjoy each other as a pagan community.
Many blessings and we hope to see you there. Please bring
finger food to share and a mindset for creative play!

It's
Witches Night Out in Benicia
Friday May 8, 2009
7:00pm - 10:00pm
The
Order of the Sacred Grove, a modern American Witchrcraft
tradition cordially invites you to a night of fun, film,
and frivolity. We are opening up our covenstead to local
pagans in a new series of informal gatherings.
We
will be showing the film Goddess Remembered,
a "stunning and poetic documentary that explores Pre-Christian
goddess-worshipping religions." Following the film we
will explore ways in which the craft has grown and changed
since Goddess Remembered was created in the early 90's. What
foundations from this movement are still in place? In what
ways have our views changed regarding the roots of pagan spirituality.
What hairstyles will we never be caught dead with again! Ever!
More
importantly we will share camaraderie with our brothers and
sisters in the craft.
Bring
movie munchies, an open heart and sit a spell with other witches
for a magical Friday night.
